    Project: Development of the Industrial Park infrastructures
    RoleSenior advisor to identify the appropriate implementation method and set up internal (SPIPB) and external implementation teams for the project.

    Project Description

    The site of the industrial park is planned to receive over the next few years a major phase of implementation of large industries in a strategic activity sector in the eyes of the Government of Quebec.

    Investments of around $350 million are planned in addition to major investments from the various incoming companies. www.spipb.com

    It is estimated that some 10,000 workers could be called upon to work in this new innovation zone intended for the manufacture of essential elements for sustainable transport.

    Services

    Advise and assist the Society in organizing a project management structure, both internal (SPIPB) and external (CM) forming a Project management Office (PMO) for the deployment of engineering and construction activities of the park’s infrastructure, such as:

    • Roads and various utility networks (water, sewer, residual water, etc.);
    • Rail;
    • Public services (power, gas, communication, IT, etc.);
    • Water treatment station.

    Obtained results

    1. An internal Project Management Office (PMO) was set up following the hiring of a director and managers;
    2. A Construction Management firm was selected following a public call for tenders;
    3. Work on site started as soon as Spring 2022.
